AVI-SPL a Double-Project Winner for PRO AV's Spotlight Awards

Interactive by Design

When your business is workplace solutions, you already have a trained eye for integration, architecture, and design. Ask Bob Dougherty, global IT manager at Haworth, why integrating AV into the company's new headquarters was challenging, and he says, "Because it had to be integrated into Haworth's products, including credenzas, tables, and walls." In other words, no ordinary integration would do for Haworth and AV firm AVI-SPL.

For the Sports Junkie

STATS

STATS is the kind of stylish restaurant you might expect to see in New York, L.A., or Miami-but maybe not Atlanta. And with its sleek look, private VIP rooms, and chic ambiance (even the rest rooms have high-tech themes), you definitely wouldn't expect it to be a sports bar. But it is, and the cool factor is due largely to the AV design created and installed by technicians from AVI-SPL, who worked six to seven days a week, 14 hours a day, for about a month.

AVI-SPL Helps Madison Park Church of God Reach New Heights of Technology

"As with any AV project, the importance of a structure's architecture and its effect on acoustics plays a key factor, and we had the advantage of being brought into this project during the building design phase. AVI-SPL was responsible for providing an acoustical analysis of the space; our teams utilized the techniques and tools EASE diagnostics for this task. Over a two-year period, AVI-SPL's team of designers, engineers, and installers dedicated themselves to this project, delivering a new look, feel and rhythm to the congregation of Madison Park Church of God."

Out Of The Loop? What AV Professionals Need To Do To Stay Ahead Of The Convergence Game

"In transportation applications, such as AVI-SPL's solution for the Florida Department of Transportation's Intelligent Transportation Systems (pictured), encoded or compressed video streams coming into a traffic management center are displayed on large projection walls and flat screens. Within companies and large organizations, the IT world has gained domain over many AV purchasing decisions, Sean LaNeve of AVI-SPL said. But these buyers don't have the knowledge to put these systems together."

"Head of Class" (Flagler College Classroom Installation)

Flagler College

"When a typical classroom installation at the 19-acre campus of Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla., suddenly grew from five rooms to 20 - and without an extension to the original deadline - AVI-SPL didn't flinch. AVI-SPL's office in Jacksonville, Fla., and Flagler already had a plan in place for a standard classroom AV system. In order to meet greater technology needs, a variation of the standard AV system was used for the graphics lab in the library, where a wide-format projector was used."

"By the People" (DeLand Commission Chambers)

DeLand Commission Chambers

"The new city hall is DeLand's third since 1905; the new building's square footage is three times that of the previous structure built in 1921 and combines the functions from two previous city buildings. To design and install elements of the new city hall's AV systems, the City of DeLand contracted AVI-SPL, a nationally known systems integrator with an office in Orlando. AVI-SPL's main role was to integrate state-of-the-art technology within DeLand's council chambers."
